چکیده

The glycophosphosphingolipids are a group of sphingolipids characterized by the presence of equimolar amounts of long-chain base and fatty acid (ceramide) and containing either one or two mol of inositol phosphate per mol of lipid. From one to several mol of sugar are also present. Glycophosphosphingolipids have been isolated from both plant and fungal sources. Work in this area had for years been the province of Herbert Carter and colleagues. They showed that such glycolipids occurred in seeds from corn, flax, soya beans and bean leaves (Carter et al., 1958; Carter & Koob, 1969). The major glycolipid from corn seed had the structure (Carter et al., 1969):

Biochemical characterization of fungal phytases (myo-inositol hexakisphosphate phosphohydrolases): catalytic properties.

Supplementation with phytase is an effective way to increase the availability of phosphorus in seed-based animal feed. The biochemical characteristics of an ideal phytase for this application are still largely unknown. To extend the biochemical characterization of wild-type phytases, the catalytic properties of a series of fungal phytases, as well as Escherichia coli phytase, were determined. T...

Glycosphingolipids of the model fungus Aspergillus nidulans: characterization of GIPCs with oligo-alpha-mannose-type glycans.

Aspergillus nidulans is a well-established nonpathogenic laboratory model for the opportunistic mycopathogen, A. fumigatus. Some recent studies have focused on possible functional roles of glycosphingolipids (GSLs) in these fungi. It has been demonstrated that biosynthesis of glycosylinositol phosphorylceramides (GIPCs) is required for normal cell cycle progression and polarized growth in A. ni...

The phytase subfamily of histidine acid phosphatases: isolation of genes for two novel phytases from the fungi Aspergillus terreus and Myceliophthora thermophila.

Phytases catalyse the hydrolysis of phytate (myo-inositol hexakisphosphate) to myo-inositol and inorganic phosphate. In this study genes encoding novel phytases from two different filamentous fungi, Aspergillus terreus strain 9A-1 and Myceliophthora thermophila were isolated. The encoded PhyA phytase proteins show 60% (A. terreus) and 48% (M. thermophila) identity, respectively, to the PhyA of ...

ISOLATION, PRODUCTION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF EXTRACELLULAR PECTINASE FROM Aspergillus niger K3

A pectinase producing fungus was isolated from compost soil. Morphological characteristics, microscopic observations and molecular characterization based on internal transcribed spacer (ITS) sequences led to its identification as Aspergillus niger (GenBank Accession Number: JX556221) and it was designated as Aspergillus niger strain K3. In the present study, the culture condition of the media w...

Fabrication and characterization of SnO2 and SnS2 nanobiosensor in the Presence of Aspergillus Niger Fungi

In this paper, SnO2 and SnS2 thin films were prepared by spray pyrolysis technique on glass substrate. The prepared films were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Aspergillus niger (A. Niger) fungi were grown in an appropriate medium and were exposed to the synthesized SnO2 and SnS2 thin films in a closed glass vessel to measure their nano-biosensing...
